THE BEGINNING → Welcome to the very first edition of NYK—mag.
Since this is a volunteer based, passion driven project, we disclaim that it is highly biased by our editor in chief, who’s also the artistic director and manager and founder and... Yeah, you get the point. We do not have a journalism background, and we’re not a newsmedia. We’re a medium for representing underrepresented voices and to inspire with stories of young people devoting their time and energy into changing the way we go out, party and experience euphoria, without discrimination, racism, violence and generally destructive behaviour.
In this edition we want to dedicate some time to talk about the beginning and the legacy of NYK, with a short text about how the process went, and how we got to where we are today.
Within the same topic, we want to give a massiv shout-out to our dear friends and colleagues at Aarhus Volume, as one of the most important cultural organisations in town, for making it this far. For the last seven years, a documantary has been on the way about the team, and their legacy. You can now watch all three episodes on TV2 Østjyllands for free.
To round off this edition, we will include some solid recommendations for the coming weekend, with SPOT Festival taking over Aarhus, as well as a quick mention of things we are excited about in the near future.
