KLUB22

10/21 - 01/23

In 2022, we launched KLUB22, a temporary venue in the former cafeteria of Aarhus' old county hospital. This space was transformed into a vibrant club environment, hosting events that challenged conventional nightlife norms by emphasizing representation, inclusion, and safety. KLUB22 became known for its eclectic programming, featuring genres like drum and bass, dancehall, and afrobeat, and for creating an atmosphere where all attendees felt welcome.
By openly promoting a responsible and non-discriminating behaviour, we fought to be an advocate for less discrimination in the nightlife.

Raise The Bar
With this web series we wanted to unfold the process of creating KLUB22, to showcase how bottom-up community based work can invite and include upcoming cultural creators into established cultural organizations, and how to better take part in changing the current policies of how we create cultural influence in our city.

This series is produced and directed by Synkron and is made possible with funding from Aarhus municipality.

E03: The Faces Of KLUB22
